This is Aston Martin’s new V8 Vantage, with a new gearbox, styling tweaks and chassis upgrades. You might think it looks little different than before – and that’s no bad thing – but Aston Martin claims the updates amount to ‘most comprehensive programme of enhancements’ since the 4.7-litre version of the V8 Vantage was launched in 2008. The new Aston Martin V8 Vantage will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March 2012, just in time to distract potential customers away from the new Porsche 911.
So what’s new about the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage?
Having decided to focus solely on their Pirelli World Challenge GT effort involving Volvo's S60, K-PAX racing has decided to sell off their two-year-old C30s. Given that 2013 is the production car's last hurrah, it makes sad sense that Volvo's not too interested in campaigning a machine that will soon be vacating showrooms. Built in 2011 to compete in the World Challenge Touring Class, the pair managed six poles and five wins under the sure hands and feet of Robb Holland and Aaron Povoledo.
BMW MegaCity - Range Extender option
A year ago, when BMW revealed the BMW Concept ActiveE 1-Series in Detroit we had a big old press release. And inside that press release was the small gem that the MegaCity part of BMW’s project-i would include drivetrains other than electric. We’re not sure BMW ever said that its MegaCity cars would be all electric, although we’re probably not alone in having assumed that.
